1인당 GDP 는 익히 들어서 알고 계시는 분들이 많을 것입니다. 국가총생산이 GDP 이고, 그것을 1인당으로 나눈 것이 1인당 GDP 이죠. 그런데 PPP 라는 것도 있습니다. PPP 란, 구매력평가 1인당 GDP 입니다. 그 나라에서 1인당 GDP 로 얼마나 많은 구매를 할 수 있느냐를 평가하는 것이죠. 

그럼 우리나라와 일본, 그외 선진국들의 GDP와 PPP를 비교해 보겠습니다.

1. 대한민국

1인당 GDP : $34,165

1인당 PPP : $59,330

2. 일본

1인당 GDP : $33,138
1인당 PPP : $54,184

3. 영국

1인당 GDP : $51,075

1인당 PPP : $58,880

4. 프랑스

1인당 GDP : $47,359
1인당 PPP : $60,339

5. 이탈리아

1인당 GDP :  $39,580

1인당 PPP :  $56,905

6. 스페인

1인당 GDP : $34,045
1인당 PPP : $52,012

7. 대만

1인당 GDP : $34,432

우리나라는 일본, 대만과 비슷한 1인당 GDP를 가지고 있고, 주요 유럽 선진국들과 비슷한 1인당 PPP를 가지고 있습니다.

미국은 명목 GDP상 거의 두배이지만, PPP 는 1.5배 정도이고, 나머지 제가 위에 소개한 주요 유럽 선진국과 대만, 일본 과 비교하면 거의 비슷하네요.

우리나라의 생활수준은 주요 선진 서유럽 국가보다 약간 낮고, 일본이나 대만 수준으로 보면 맞을 것 같습니다.
